A few words about the doctor...

Mrs. Sophia Balamoti is a gynaecologist specialising in Breast Surgical Oncology and maintains her practice in Athens.

She received her medical degree from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the General Hospital of N.Ionia "Agia Olga" in 2018.

He holds the national and European specialty title since 2019. Afterwards, she was involved in breast oncology and carried out her her further training in the United Kingdom, focusing on surgical oncology and rehabilitation after breast cancer surgery – Clinical oncoplastic breast fellowship (2022-2023).

The breadth of her studies, her specialization, as well as her work experience, allows her to take a comprehensive approach to issues related to women's health today, which can be summarized as follows: Routine gynaecological check-up with the standard Pap test, clinical examination and vaginal ultrasound, breast screening with clinical breast examination, digital mammography and ultrasound breast examination, mastalgia, palpable breast lumps, breast asymmetry, breast skin lesions, nipple discharge, axillary tumour, hypoplastic breasts, breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery, chronic breast pain, breast implant complications and gynecomastia.

It also provides counselling on issues related to adolescence, reproductive capacity and the climacteric - menopausal period, accompanied by the corresponding hormonal testing.

More specifically and more specifically, it provides services on issues related to cycle disorders, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, polycystic ovaries & acne, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, vaccination against HPV, Pap smear test, colposcopy and disordered hemorrhoids. In addition, she undertakes fertility preservation, egg freezing, infertility testing, couples counseling, postpartum contraception, sexual health, perineal lesion repair and vaginal dryness, recurrent urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse - cystocele, rectocele and uterine prolapse. She also performs bone density testing, hormone replacement therapy, vaginal atrophy, postmenopausal vaginal haemorrhoids, perimenopausal symptoms and sexual health issues.

In her clinic, high quality gynecological and breast examination services are provided with the help of modern equipment and tools that aim at the correct, timely and accurate diagnosis of health problems that women of all ages have to face today.
